Welcome!
Please come in and allow us to tell you a little about what and who we believe Christ's Church is.
The Church is People!
We sometimes don't think of the church as being people, but Jesus never referred to the church as a building. Morning Star Foursquare Church believes that everyone has a purpose conceived in the heart of God. We are committed to helping people find that purpose, and discover and develop their spiritual gifts to fulfill that purpose. We endeavor to accomplish this through the following ways:
Open Worship
- Praise and adoration of our God and King, the LORD Jesus Christ. Each believing person has been declared to be a priest before God. Worship is a way of life, whether private or in community with other believers. See John 4:23, 1 Peter 2:9-10.
- This means you will have an opportunity to share what God has given you. Bring a song, a reading, a testimony. If it points people to Jesus, it is always appropriate. Your involvement in worship counts.
Open Ministry
- Ministry is for everyone, not just the "chosen few". "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." - 1 Peter 4:10 (NASB)
- Christian ministry is founded upon God's calling and His gift in people, rather than education or political power. It is for the purpose of building up His church (See 1 Corinthians 14:26) and is quite diversified in terms of people and manifestation.
- Christian ministry is for the purpose of taking the Good News of Jesus Christ into the marketplace (See Acts 1:8). Whether in the midst of the church assembled, or in the world, ministry requires God's gift and power to be effective.
Open Sharing
- The New Testament Church cared for each other. That involved sharing of gifts, needs, blessings, burdens, victories, and failures. We're in this together, and we are trying to learn that there is no such thing as a loner in God's Kingdom. Independence is out. Interdependence is in.
- ". . . let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:24-25 (NASB)
